Jay’s Tungsten Soft Hackle Fly

From The Caddis Fly Shop:
In this video, Jay ties a Tungsten Soft Hackle fly. An effective pattern for euro nymphing and indicator fishing for trout. Give this pattern a try!

Materials list:

Hook: TMC 3761 size 12 or Daiichi 1760 size 12
Bead: tungsten mottled tactical black 1/8th
Wire: Lead-Free .015
Glue: Loc-Tite Brush-on or Krazy Glue Brush-on
Thread: 70 Denier UTC Red
Tail: Coq de Leon
Body: Kiley’s Pearl Body Wrap

Hook – Ahrex FW500 Sz 10 Dry Fly
(A large hook was used in this video for demonstration purposes) Karsten normally ties and fishes these from size 14-20)
Thread – Red Semperfli 6/0 waxed thread
Body – Peacock herl, Ostrich Herl twisted into a dubbing loop
Hackle – Hebert Miner Hen Cape Natural Black
