Keith’s passion for the sport began in 1993 while he attended Humboldt State University. The Trinity, Klamath, and Mad River provided plenty of practice while chasing steelhead and salmon. During the course of his education he became involved and acted as a TA in Bob Kelly’s “Beginning Fly Fishing Course. He graduated in 1998 with a BA in Art with an emphasis on Graphic Design.
He’s been in the industry since 1999, and for the last 12 years has be involved with Leland Fly Fishing Outfitters and Red Truck Fly Fishing. He’s in charge of Online Customer Service and offers Personal Shopping services, helping clients all over the world make the right gear decisions to suit their unique fly fishing needs. Also, being a FFF certified casting instructor Keith enjoys teaching and helping people get into the sport.
Keith has fished all over the globe but his true passion rests in the rich saltwater fisheries of the world’s tropical regions. Belize, Christmas Island, Bahammas, the Florida Keys, Los Roques, and Campeche, Mexico make up a portion of his fly fishing resume.
Closer to home in the San Francisco Bay Area, Keith pursues stripers in the Delta as well as trout in some of the planet’s very best blue ribbon streams. Keith is also a sucker for sharks on the fly and he’s determined to unlock the secrets of some of the killer flats near Point Reyes, which hold some giant leopard sharks.
In 2010 Keith started Nature Boy Designs combining his love of art and passion for fly fishing.
