Regan’s Mayfly spinner dry fly with Barry Ord Clarke

Barry ties a spinner that I’m very familiar with, designed by Jerry Regan of Michigan.
-Paul

From Barry:
“A very interesting Mayfly spinner pattern that puts deer hair to good use for both the body and the wing post. Often used on a # 6 XL hook for the great Hex hatch, but tied on smaller sizes it works well for most mayflies as with this # 12 yellow may here.”

Materials list:
Hook: Mustad R43 #12
Tying thread: Sheer brown 14/0
Tail: Pheasant tail fibres
Body/ post: Yellow deer hair
Hackle: Yellow grizzle
Thorax: Peacock herl
Wings: Two hen hackle tips.
